New York-based fashion historian and museum professional.

Drawn to the power of dress objects as storytellers—coupled with my cultural heritage—I have spent over a decade exploring the richness of Japan’s fashion histories. My practice seeks to expand the existing scholarship on Japanese fashion of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, such as in my research on the designer Hanae Mori. Through curatorial projects featuring cross-temporal and cross-cultural subjects, I translate research into compelling and accessible experiences that connect objects, spaces, and audiences.

In my current role as Research Associate for The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, I provide curatorial support for special exhibitions, publications, and educational programs. Previously, I served as Assistant Curator at Japan Society, New York, and trained in curatorial work at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and Asia Society Museum. I hold a Master of Arts in Costume Studies from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts from the School of International Liberal Studies from Waseda University.
